21 day prayer & Fasting

jan 11-31
GICM wishes to dedicate 21 days of 2024 to seeking God for a vision with all our hearts via fasting and prayer. We are aware that it is through such circumstances that God shows His character and transforms ours.

Do you need healing, a miracle, guidance, or do you just want to get closer to God?

Please know that this and all corporate fasting is not mandatory, Fasting Is Always Voluntary. Fasting is an attitude of the heart. Fasting is Spiritual, a closer walk (relationship) with Jesus.
our guide to fasting
01
What is a Fast?
A Biblical Fast is just refraining from eating for religious reasons. Jesus encouraged and
anticipated that followers of his would fast (Matt. 6:17-18, Matt. 9:15). During this time, many people refrain from eating, watching television, and engaging in other sorts of entertainment in favor of spending it getting closer to God. The use of this Fasting period for Prayer, Bible study, and Worship is what makes it rich.
Simply put, if Fasting is not done in conjunction with prayer and Bible study, it is just a diet.

Plan Ahead: Make A Plan and Pray Over It
Make important decisions on what you will give up and what you will add to your life during these days. Prayer and Fasting go hand in hand with deliverance, and remember, they do not and will
not look the same; they will look different for each person (DO NOT COMPARE).
This is where you prepare a plan and pray over it, so that you hear God clearly, that you stick to it, and that you will get a life-changing perspective, and it will be a beautiful communion with God.
Allow room for the Holy Spirit to guide you. Remember that Fasting does not always result in revitalization; it simply demonstrates humility before God.

Planning Your Fast
1. Identify your objectives (e.g., What is your purpose, your goal)

2. Make a commitment. (e.g., What is your Mission, Assignment/Calling in the body of Christ to help. spread Faith in the Church & Community).
3. Get spiritually prepared. (Do not underestimate spiritual opposition, sometimes the natural battle
will intensify between body and spirit)
4. Get physically prepared. (Expect some discomforts, Medications should ONLY be withdrawn with. your physicians’ supervision and approval)
5. Do not boast or broadcast your fast, Do not appear to be Fasting (Matthew 6:16-18)
6. Establish a routine for yourself.
7. Gradually end your Fast.
8. Expect outcomes.
